How to play Forbidden Words
Split into two teams
Pick a deck, name the teams and set the timer. One player per turn holds the phone and becomes the describer.
Describe, don't say
Get your team to say the main word without using the forbidden words on the card. Say one and the card is lost.
Score and pass the phone
Tap Correct for each guess, pass the tricky ones while you still have passes, then hand the phone to the other team.
Why groups play Forbidden Words in Tadado
Harder words, bigger scores
Every card has a difficulty. Take on the hard ones to grow your multiplier and turn a close game around.
No cards, no buzzer, no score sheet
The timer, the forbidden-word check and the scoreboard all live in the app, so nobody has to referee.
Decks for every group
Start with the free Tadado Mix, add themed decks, or let AI write a deck about your friends, your city or your favorite show.

Forbidden Words: questions
Is Forbidden Words the same as Taboo?
It plays in the same style: describe a word without saying the forbidden clues while your team guesses against a timer. Tadado is an independent app with its own decks, scoring and design, and it is not the official Taboo game.
How many players do you need?
Four or more players is best, split into two teams. Bigger groups work well too: just make the teams larger and keep passing the phone.
Is there a free Taboo-style app without ads?
Yes. Tadado is free to download with the free Tadado Mix deck, and it has no ads and no subscription. Themed decks and AI deck creation are optional one-time purchases.
Can we make our own Taboo cards?
Yes. Type any topic and Tadado's AI writes a full deck with a main word and forbidden words for each card. You can play it right away in Forbidden Words, Heads Up or Imposter.
